acorn sub-fund
The Ballarat Foundation offers many options by which a Sub-fund can be established. For those that wish to contribute with recognition, but have a limited capacity to donate, the Acorn Sub-fund is a simple way to make donations which accumulate to ultimately receive Named Sub-fund status.
- With an initial donation of $1,000, further donations can be added at any frequency. If at any time within a ten year period an individual or business's donations exceed $10,000 then the Acorn Sub-fund will transfer to a Named Sub-fund, allowing the Donor all the benefits of a named Sub-fund including the option of naming the fund. This can be in the individuals name, a partner's or family name, a business name or even in the memory of someone.
- Donations to the fund are tax deductible.*
- Ongoing contributions are essential to reach the $10,000 point, but once achieved further donations whilst recommended are not essential.
- Once Named Sub-fund status is reached then Named Sub-fund conditions apply (refer to Named Sub-fund details)
Of course, the prime advantage in donating to The Ballarat Foundation in this way is that your donations are invested and it is the earnings from this investment that is contributed back to the community, year after year into perpetuity.
Particularly for individuals, and possibly business too, Acorn Sub-funds can replace or supplement existing, sometimes ad hoc, community support.
Over time, with further contributions, an Acorn Sub-fund becomes a Named Sub-fund and can build to become a substantial community funding tool.
We are happy to discuss this and other options with you, confidentially and totally obligation free.
* Where tax deductible gifts are received, conditions can apply limiting certain grant options.
