Six Ballarat community groups received over $27,000 in funding grants on November 12th.
The funding grants have been provided through The Ballarat Foundation's 2008 Community Grants Program.
The grants were presented at Delacombe Primary School, a recipient in this round, providing an opportunity to showcase some of the incredible work that is undertaken in our community, in this case the children's Kitchen Garden.
Students from the school presented their Kitchen Garden story at the ceremony, highlighting what they have achieved and how they plan to expand the program with
the grant.
Guests at the awards sampled food made from produce of the garden.
Noel Trengove, CEO of The Ballarat Foundation, said the last twelve months had been an exciting year of growth for The Ballarat Foundation with strategic plans being executed to take the Foundation forward in the years ahead.

"We are very excited about the grants we are presenting today as we believe they will make a real difference across a range of community areas," Mr Trengove said.
"With the current economic climate we have had to work hard to ensure we could deliver these grants. Our Board felt that it was extremely important for a community organisation such as the Foundation to continue to make grants in both good and tough economic times as the community's needs never reduce."
