The Ballarat Foundation came close to taking out a major category in the recent Regional Achievement and Community Awards (Victoria) for their 7 Star Low Energy Home. Not a bad achievement for a single project up against state based organisations including Conservation Volunteers Australia, who took out the award.

Recognition as a semi-finalist in itself is itself a high honour and shows the merit and benefits of a project such as this. The Foundation was recognised for its efforts in educating the community about energy saving and good design principals in home design and fit out.

The awards were presented by Hon Jacinta Allan MP, Minister for Regional and Rural Development at a dinner in Ballarat attended by over 400 people from across the state.
