Rotary Springfest Grants

Seven community Groups including the Ballarat Foundation's Back to School Voucher program were worthy recipients of grants from proceeds of the 2009 SpringFest Season of Events run by the Rotary Club of Ballarat.

With this contribution to the Back to School Voucher program and with the 'Challenge component' (where we double the contribution made by Rotary and Springfest) this will mean over 240 needy Ballarat children will be supported from this contribution alone.

The Ballarat Foundation thanks SpringFest and its major sponsor, Bendigo Bank and the Rotary Club of Ballarat for their support to this most important annual program.

Golden key members are rewarded for their academic, leadership and service excellence, and the organisation offers many scholarships solely to its members.

Golden key chapter advisor Linda Petrie said that "Each year the society raises money for a charity and this year the committee has decided to raise money for The Ballarat Foundation's Back to School Voucher program.

As guest speaker, CEO Noel Trengove said that he was humbled to be acknowledged amongst a group of such worthy and high calibre students and was able to deliver to the audience at this auspicious event a brief overview of the work of the Foundation and in particular the impact made by the Back to School voucher program
