Eight Ballarat community groups received over $31,200 in funding grants at a presentation on Tuesday 6th December 2011.
The funding grants are provided through The Ballarat Foundation's 2011 Community Grants Program.
The grants were announced at a morning tea at The Ballarat East Community Men's Shed.
"We like to hold the grants presentations at the premises of one of the recipient organisations as it is a great way for them to show their facilities and programs to a wider audience and it is a way of other organisations seeing who is doing what in the community. The real win is if they can leverage off each other, network and possibly even share resources which has happened with three organisations today", said The Ballarat Foundation CEO, Noel Trengove.

“We are very excited to present these grants as we believe they will make a real difference across a range of community areas. Of particular note is the announcement of the first grant being granted from one of our newer funds, the Advanced Cabinetry Sub-fund, a local business who firmly believe in investing in and giving back to the community and see the Foundation model as an effective way to achieve this not just for today but into the long term future,” Mr Coghlan said.
