The Ballarat Foundation promotes community spirit and generosity, and provides this vehicle for individuals, families and business to form their own charitable sub-fund, during their lifetime or through a bequest. It is in the spirit of such an arrangement that the partnership between The Ballarat Foundation and Telstra Country Wide began in 2005, with the establishment of The Telstra Country Wide Ballarat Community Fund.
This sub-fund operates within The Ballarat Foundation which provides the legal and all admin istration required for it to function effectively and efficiently.
The Telstra Country Wide Ballarat Community Fund is a very positive and tangible way that Telstra Country Wide invests in the Ballarat community.
Each year, the Telstra Country Wide Ballarat Community Fund provides benefits back to Ballarat community organisations by way of a $3.00 contribution for each Telstra telephone service which is pre-selected to Telstra Country Wide in the Ballarat City area.
Through its two distribution rounds annually, the Telstra Country Wide Ballarat Community Fund supports organisations with specific projects in the areas of Health & Community Wellbeing, Education, Arts & Humanities, Sport & Recreation, Conservation & Environment, Community Development and Community Disaster Relief.
In total Telstra Country Wide through its Community Fund has awarded 70 grants totalling $330,000 to community organisations, enabling them to carry out the vital work they do in supporting the social wellbeing of the Ballarat community.
