Welcome to the Wendouree Delacombe Sub-fund, a sustainable community support model.
Through a partnership with the State Government and our Ballarat Community, we have built a perpetual capital fund supporting of two of our most needing areas within our Ballarat community, Wendouree and Delacombe.
This fund is structured to operate with a minimum capital base of $400,000 which is achieved from the following make-up:
- $100,000 from state government (August 2009)
- $100,000 community contribution (This challenge met and exceeded in August 2010)
- A further $200,000 in matching funds from the state government (September 2010)
This capital base will be the core funds held in perpetuity which, through investment, will provide an annual income. This income, in-turn, is directed back into the Wendouree and Delacombe communities in support of projects and programs that builds community.
A benefit of this fund is that specific projects and programs will be considered and recommended by an assessment panel of community representatives and is flexible to be able to meet changing and specific needs as they occur over time. Another advantage is that funds don't need to be raised each year as once established, programs are funded from earnings.
With $400,000 plus invested into perpetuity, the Foundation will provide annual grants in support of projects and programs for Wendouree and Delacombe that builds and strengthens these communities. Flexibility of granting meets changing and specific needs as they occur over time.
