Cost of living pressures and the early onset of cold weather created an increase in presentations at Ballarat relief and support agencies this year. It is the ongoing generosity of the Ballarat community that has helped vulnerable individuals and families keep warm this winter. We are so proud to reveal that the Ballarat Winter Appeal raised over $31,000 despite the increased cost of living.
The Ballarat Winter Appeal launched with $33,000 of food provided to St Vincent de Paul Relief Centre through a partnership with Ballarat’s Blake Family Grocers. The food was delivered free of charge by O’Neil’s Transport and will support hundreds of Ballarat residents experiencing food insecurity.
Food deliveries arrive at relief centres across Ballarat.
Creswick Woollen Mills donated 200 blankets to help keep the cold away which were delivered The Salvation Army, Uniting Ballarat, St Vincent De Paul, Ballarat and Anglicare Ballarat. The annual Ballarat Winter Appeal raises funds to support people experiencing hardship in the Ballarat community. Funds raised from the appeal are distributed to Ballarat charities which are working directly with individuals and families requiring immediate assistance.
