The Ballarat Foundation hosts inspiring events each year, from Dancing with Our Stars to Ballarat Women’s Fund gatherings, uniting our community to raise funds and create lasting impact.
The Ballarat Foundation hosts a range of events each year that bring people together, celebrate community spirit and raise vital funds to support programs across our region. Our largest event, Dancing with Our Stars, has seen more than 60 local identities step out of their comfort zones and onto the dance floor, raising over $1 million for the community.
The Ballarat Women’s Fund also holds key events throughout the year, including the annual Pick My Project evening, where members pool their giving power to support initiatives that advance gender equality and create opportunities for women and girls. Together, these events highlight the generosity of our community and the lasting impact that can be achieved when people come together for a common purpose.
Dancing with Our Stars is one of Ballarat’s most exciting charity events. It brings together local personalities for a night of dance, entertainment and community spirit.
In the lead-up to the event, our Stars work with Shelley Ross and her team of experienced dancers from The Dance Studio Ballarat to learn and perfect their routines. On the big night, they take to the stage to compete for the mirror ball trophy!
With its electric atmosphere and generous community support, Dancing with Our Stars is a feel-good celebration of local talent - all while raising vital funds to support the Ballarat Foundation’s mission of reducing disadvantage in our region.

The Ballarat Foundation acknowledges the Wadawurrung people, the traditional owners of the lands and waterways in our region. We recognise their diversity, resilience, and the ongoing place that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people hold in our communities. We pay our respects to the Elders, both past and present, and commit to working together in the spirit of mutual understanding, respect and reconciliation.
The Ballarat Foundation is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where everyone is welcomed, respected and empowered to thrive.
