We are so pleased to announce that the Ballarat Winter Appeal raised an impressive $38,312.95 despite the ongoing financial pressures so many are facing.
With the rising cost of living having a marked impact on families, Ballarat’s relief and support agencies have seen a noticeable increase in people seeking help this year. Fortunately, the kindness of the Ballarat community have made it possible for vulnerable families and individuals to stay warm during the winter months with donations of winter coats and blankets.

The appeal kicked off with a generous contribution of $33,000 worth of food from Blake Family Grocers, which was delivered to the four charities, St Vincent de Paul, Anglicare, Uniting Ballarat and the Salvation Army. This was made possible through a partnership with O’Neil’s Transport, who delivered the goods free of charge. These food supplies will provide essential support to hundreds of residents grappling with food insecurity. Faith Thompson, Interim Emergency Relief Centre Co-ordinator at Uniting said, "we would like to send out a huge thank you to you, the Ballarat Foundation, Blake’s and O’Neills Transport (and everyone else involved) for the magnificent donation of 4 pallets of food. Whilst we knew it was coming, it is still exciting to see it arrive and to unpack it all."

Additionally, Creswick Woollen Mills donated 200 blankets, which were also distributed to ensure people could stay warm.

The Ballarat Winter Appeal continues to play a crucial role in supporting locals experiencing hardship, with the funds raised going directly to charities working on the front lines. The Ballarat Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who generously contributed to this year's appeal, helping to make a real difference in our community.
