Perhaps the craziest thing I have ever done.... but let's give it a whirl! Thank you for supporting me, and my employer/sponsor - the Royal South Street Society, in our efforts to promote and encourage participation, enjoyment and enrichment through the performing arts! My participation in this event proves that you can tap into the things you love the most, enrich your life and do great things for the community, at any age!

The work of the Ballarat Foundation in our community cannot be underestimated. In particular, I relate to the work of the L2P program and the School Breakfast Program. A mother of three grown up big people, I spent hours behind the wheel with driving lessons, and my children never left the house without breakfast. To learn that 1 in 5 Ballarat children go to school without breakfast is staggering, and I can see how hard it would be for people without support networks to build up the hours required to progress from Ls to Ps, and the impact that having a licence can make to their lives. These are game changers in the life and learning of our young people!

Plus, we are always asking for volunteers and sponsors for the Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod, so this is our way of giving back to the wider Ballarat community and still promoting participation, enjoyment and enrichment through the arts! A love of dance never leaves you...but ballroom dancing is whole new stage for us, although the Royal South Street Society Eisteddfod once included the discipline of Ballroom Dancing! Who knows, maybe this will evoke a ballroom dancing competition comeback?
