Ballarat Women’s Fund 2025

Together, we can create a Ballarat where women are safe, equal and respected.

What is the Ballarat Women’s Fund?

The Ballarat Women’s Fund is a giving circle that empowers donors to take collective action against gender inequality and violence affecting women in our community.

Launched in response to the growing crisis of gendered violence in Ballarat, the fund channels the power of philanthropy to create real and lasting change.

In 2024, Ballarat’s rate of family violence was 51% higher than the Victorian average (Victorian Crime Statistics Agency).

Your donation supports women experiencing family or domestic violence, improves access to safe and affordable housing, and helps remove barriers to equal opportunities in the workforce.

How It Works

  • By donating $530 annually or $44 per month, you join a group of like-minded change-makers working to improve the lives of women in Ballarat.
  • 50% of donations are granted to a project receiving $30,000 grant.
  • 50% is invested to grow the fund and support long-term change.

Donors vote Project Sitara by Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council to receive $30,000

Project Sitara is an initiative supporting Indian women in Ballarat facing family violence.

Family violence affects all communities, but culturally diverse women often face extra barriers to seeking help. Project Sitara will train 8-12 Indian women as Community Champions, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to support others and connect them to services. The initiative also includes workshops, awareness campaigns, and peer support to build stronger networks within the Indian community.

The 2024 recipient of a $25,000 grant was Raven Collective.
