Access to nutritious food is fundamental to health, learning and participation. Through our Community Impact Grants, the Ballarat Foundation supports practical, local solutions that put good food on the table today while building skills and connection for tomorrow. This year’s Food Security grants back three proven programs that are feeding people, strengthening school engagement and growing community-led resilience across Ballarat.
Uniting Vic Tas - BreezeWay Community Meals Program - $10,000
BreezeWay continues to serve hot, nutritious meals every day to people experiencing homelessness and financial hardship in Ballarat. This funding supported the purchase of food and supplies to meet increasing demand, offering dignity, connection and vital nutrition to those doing it tough.
Hilltop Church - Breakfast Clubs $7,861.28
Hilltop Church delivered free, nutritious breakfasts to students at local schools, ensuring children start their day with full stomachs and improved capacity to learn. The program supports wellbeing, attendance and a positive school experience.
Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre - Growing with the Community $3,000
This initiative created a productive community garden space at Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre, engaging residents in growing fresh food, learning new skills and strengthening community connection. It promotes food security, sustainability, and inclusive participation.
The Ballarat Foundation acknowledges the Wadawurrung people, the traditional owners of the lands and waterways in our region. We recognise their diversity, resilience, and the ongoing place that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people hold in our communities. We pay our respects to the Elders, both past and present, and commit to working together in the spirit of mutual understanding, respect and reconciliation.
The Ballarat Foundation is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where everyone is welcomed, respected and empowered to thrive.
