Success for Raven Collective on International Women's Day

The Ballarat Foundation held the inaugural Pick Our Project Evening on the eve of International Women’s Day at Loreto College.
This was the first opportunity for members of the fund to listen to pitches and vote for one program that will create positive change for women in Ballarat.
he three programs, Create:Respect Ballarat (cafs), Frida’s Daring Voices (WRISC) and Raven Collective each pitched on the night with Raven Collective winning the most votes and receiving the $20,000 grant. The two remaining programs each receiving $2,500.

The evening was hosted by Loreto College students, Lucy Eales, Matilda Carli and Ella Demunk, and St Patrick’s College students, Noah Quick, Paterson Meneely and Angus Rothe. They also gave their insights about what gender equality means to their generation.
Raven Collective Services offers an innovative program for vulnerable women who have endured domestic and family violence. Women are able to acquire practical work experience within a thriving business based in Ballarat. Simultaneously, Raven offers comprehensive theoretical training, covering essential skills like resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies. This education is a stepping stone toward securing future employment and enhancing self-confidence.
The evening was evidence to the power of collective action and giving. The Ballarat Women's Fund unites individuals committed to creating a Ballarat where women feel safe, equal and respected.
